Chapter Six: Wind. Water. Fire. Earth.

The Story of Good – Learning to Steward the Good Within.

The sky and the earth won’t last forever, but My words will~ Matthew 24: 35 (CEV)

“You are sitting in the presence of Good,” the Spirit said.

“And in Us, there is no Evil.”

“As your generation correctly understands,

There is a fourth element in Creation.”

“We are Wind, Water, and Fire.”

“But there is a fourth element still being prepared,

So that all will be Good.”

“It is Earth.”

“It is you, My child.

You, and others like you, are Earth.”

“And when you, the Earth,

Learns to steward the Good within you,

Evil will end, and all will be complete.”

“Wait,” I interrupted,

“Jesus said earlier, Spirit, that Evil exists,

Only because I don’t understand,

That Evil is simply Good turned sour.”

“What did He mean by that?” I continued.

“I’m confused.

Isn’t Evil a by-product of bad choices people make?

Bad choices made out of the free will You gave them?”

“What you say is true, My child,” the Spirit responded.

“But let me take you a bit deeper.”

“Let’s go behind the curtain.

Let me help you discern,

The truth found within Good and Evil.”

“Are you willing to come with Me?”

“Yes, Spirit,” I said, “Lead on.”

Ponder on these things:

What feelings are evoked when you hear that you need to learn to steward your life?

Over the years, what has stewarding your life looked like for you?

What fruit (good and bad) has come from your past experiences of trying to steward your life?

Over a period of about eight weeks (3 sessions per week), we will take you on a poetic journey (26-sessions) we call The Story of Good. We suggest you bookmark our blog series homepage to keep all the writings in one place for your future reference. Take note that each blog session begins with a short scripture reading. My suggestion is that you don’t hurry through, or skip the text, but treat it as a Lectio Divina reading where you slow down and sit a bit with God’s Word, allowing it to penetrate and influence you as you read. Each session also ends with a few thoughts to ponder on. I look forward to hearing some of your insight as we journey together!

Oh, and if you enjoy what you’re reading here, we encourage you to share this page and our website, The Contemplative Activist, with your friends!
